Camryn Nuckles ’25 values community and living in the moment. Whether she’s pushing herself during hot core yoga mornings, watching cop interrogation videos or enjoying memorable moments during lunch, Camryn embraces the small things in life and seeks to empower others.
Although her Castilleja journey started with little direction, over time, she discovered her passions and honed her interests, one of which is women in business. She was first introduced to business when she joined the CEO ACE Org, where she explored different aspects of entrepreneurship. This experience led to her passion for business: “Something that I want to do in the future is exploring ways to increase opportunities for women in business,” Nuckles said. She hopes to start her own business, perhaps in the sports industry.
Speaking of sports, volleyball has played a key role in Nuckles’s life. After trying rowing and lacrosse, she settled on volleyball and hopes to continue the sport at the club level in college. Beyond volleyball, she has recently discovered her interest in surfing and has also been on a hot yoga kick.
Another unique aspect of Nuckles’s personality is her love for chicken tenders; she runs an Instagram account where she rates chicken tenders at various restaurants. And when she’s not eating chicken, she spends time watching cop interrogation videos.
One of the most significant areas of growth for Nuckles has been finding herself and improving her confidence. “I think my communications skills with relationships and with people have grown a lot,” Nuckles said. “Now, I’m more confident to have a job where I have to speak in public, which probably is something I would not have wanted to do when I came into Casti in sixth grade.”
At the end of the day, what she remembers about Casti isn’t the big events or important traditions, but rather, the small things that go overlooked—like being the gator mascot at pep rallies or simply connecting with her friends during lunch every day.
If Nuckles could give a piece of advice to her younger self, it would be to “take things slower and worry less about everything.” Older folks tend to tell younger people that the years go by quickly, but Nuckles emphasized that it’s hard to fully grasp that unless you experience it yourself: “Now, thinking back, I probably should’ve listened more to that advice…and actually slowed down and taken the time to enjoy life.”
